The MPO Order Management System and Transport Management System both provide a rate agreement configuration tool, which is capable of capturing any rate model. The purpose of the tool is to: • Calculate the order costs, providing information for accruals and detailed information for invoice matching. • Calculate the prices to be charged to customers. The tool includes the following components: Selection criteria: To determine when this particular rate agreement is applicable (Any order detail can be set as a selection criterion, e.g. carrier, destination, weight, package type, service level…). Rate tables: Rate data is stored in rate tables, which can be easily maintained through excel upload/download. Based on the table selection criteria, the tool finds the appropriate tables and looks up the right value. Rate parameters: The means to calculate the correct rate based on order details and the output of rate tables. Rate components: Rate parameters are eventually mapped into rate components, which allow the rate to be broken down to the desired level of details. Tests: They allow the user to simulate the calculations and provide detailed information to show how the rate is calculated.
