CEVA Logistics serves its customers using an innovative Transport Management System, based on MP Objects technology. The TMS plans, executes and monitors in- and outbound supply chain operations for all kind of transport services such as FTL, LTL, consolidation, parcel services, or owned fleet. Special features are the integral management of complex routes (via multiple legs) and dynamic outsourcing (to multiple carriers). Besides that, the TMS supports functions for performance reporting and invoice matching. The system is used to determine the most efficient transport schedule for delivery orders, taking into account delivery algorithms and constraints, such as delivery-slot times and nominated delivery days. Delivery orders from customers are interfaced to CEVA’s TMS. If a collection or delivery appointment should be made with the customer or supplier, this restriction would be registered. Target delivery date (and time) can be adapted automatically based on the nominated delivery schedule to increase drop density and therewith lower transport costs. CEVA’s TMS is: Multiple-leg; supporting supply chains consisting of a sequence of different transport activities, such as collection, international sea/air freight and delivery leg, or an entire reverse loop, Multiple-service action; supporting management activities like cross-dock, customs, (re-)labeling or for instance repair activities, Multiple event-status; maintaining a range of statuses that an order can have during execution, to provide complete supply chain visibility.
